3DS sales exceed 72 million and Mario Kart 7 is the most successful on the device

3DS, released in 2011, will soon end its seventh year in global markets and it seems that Nintendo is continuing to support at least one additional year with new titles.

Through the financial report of Nintendo which released today the company announced exceeded that the sales of the device exceeded the barrier of 72.53 million globally, of which 6,40 million were sold in the past year. As for the sales of the device, Mario Kart 7 topped the list with 17.04 million copies sold and the full list is below:

Pokemon Sun/Moon – 16.10 million
Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire – 14.06 million
New Super Mario Bros. 2 – 12.61 million
Super Mario 3D Land – 11.96 million
Animal Crossing: New Leaf – 11.69 million
Super Smash Bros. for 3DS – 9.24 million
Pokemon Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon – 7.51 million
Tomodachi Life – 6.20 million
